My Magical Birthday

By: Shelsy

For those of you who don't know, my birthday was Monday. Ryan worked in the morning and he wished me happy birthday before he left at 5am (I didn't even remember it was my birthday that early in the morning!). Then I got some happy birthday calls from family, which I always look forward to. :-)

When Ryan got home we headed out to Magic Kingdom to take advantage of Disney's "get in for free on your birthday" promotion they're running this year. Amber of course also got in for free. :-) I chose Magic Kingdom, not only because it's my favorite of the four parks, but because Amber was able to go on every ride with us (with the exception of the three that have height requirements). That's the same reason we went there for Ryan's birthday in January--I could ride all of the rides while pregnant. :-)

We got there around noon. Fortunately the park was open until 9pm that night, because it takes a lot longer to get to things with a little one. :-) Everything was decorated for fall! They even had new fall statues in the hub area in front of the castle that showed all of the characters in their halloween costumes holding pumpkins. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to take any pictures of them. :-(

One of our first stops was Town Hall where we got Amber a First Visit button! Our second stop was the nursing mother's room. :-)

And even though Amber slowed us down a little, she was a great sport! She was happy the whole day and even napped! And we still got to do almost all of my favorites. Shanna met up with us around four after she got off of work. She was able to watch Amber while Ryan and I went on Splash Mountain! I was so excited--it's been closed for our last two visits, so I had only been on it once before way back in '97. We got soaked. :-)

The weather was perfect for us too. It was pretty hot when we first got there but cooled off considerably after an hour or so. It was also supposed to rain, but never did.

So basically, it was a perfect day! I had tons of fun and I was so glad we were able to go.

Here are some more pictures from the day:
